Welcome to STAR - Supported Typing & Autism Resources.  We hope you will take a look around and find the inspiration and the tools necessary to make a difference in the life of an individual with a severe communication impairment.  We did....and so can you!

At STAR, we strive to give those unable to communicate verbally an alternative communication strategy, so that they have the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas to others and can participate fully in all aspects of their lives, including family, school and community.

 Our Philosophy:

• We presume competence in all individuals and approach all literacy opportunities with that in mind.  
• We believe in inclusive education and strive not to segregate students with disabilities into separate educational settings.
• We believe that all individuals have the right to communicate, using whatever method they prefer, and we strive to provide those individuals the opportunity to learn a communication strategy that will enable others to see them as competent individuals.

STAR is located in Laguna Hills, California, and we currently serve clients in all areas of South Orange County and San Diego County.
